LEVEL 200 Coaching Certification Course
  • Saturday, 8:00am PDT-5:00pm PDT   Ical event icon
  • Location:

    Ted C Wills Center
    770 N San Pablo Ave
    Fresno, CA  93728

All contact teams require an active Level 200 Coach to be in compliance with USA Rugby.

The Level 200 Coach Certification consists of online pre-course work and attendance at an in-person clinic. The course structure helps to blend the “how to coach” theory with the practical implementation of coaching Rugby.

The Level 200 Coach Certification focuses on player welfare and teaching players the technical skills to play safely. The assessment requires coaches to demonstrate effective coaching techniques. These techniques include teaching through games, technical skill development through progressions and collaborative coaching.

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO COMPLETE THIS LEVEL?

    1. Complete the Level 100: World Rugby Rugby Ready (click here)
    2. Complete the Level 200 online pre-course work (click here)

    Referee Course Requirements:

New this year, another referee course requirement has been added to the already existing pre-coursework requirements. Previously, only the World Rugby Law Exam and World Rugby’s Rugby Ready program were required, now it is required for all applicants to complete the World Rugby Concussion Management module. All three of these pre-coursework requirements must be completed BEFORE you register for the course. In past years, potential referees could register for a Level 1 course, complete the course, and then complete the pre-coursework within 1 week of completion of the in-person course, but now any interested referees must complete all three modules before even registering for the course. Once each module is completed, certifications will be added to each individuals USAR Membership in order to be able to register for an upcoming Level 1 Referee Course. Keep in mind, all potential referees must register with USAR before starting any of the required modules. The three requirements are below:

    1.    The online WR law exam found at www.irblaws.com.

    2.    World Rugby’s online Rugby Ready program found at http://www.irbrugbyready.com/?language=EN

    3.    The WR Concussion Management for the General Public module found athttp://www.playerwelfare.worldrugby.org/concussion.

Once you have completed the three pre-course requirements above, you may register here: https://webpoint.usarugby.org/wp15/Events2/ViewEvt.wp?EventID=2448
